If you are looking to spend a holiday in Goa, this gorgeous property is now ready to welcome you.
Now Goa's newest small luxury "Heritage" Property (India's answer to the Paradors and Relais et Chateaux), this villa hotel is a recently restored 300 year-old Portuguese era manor house that once belonged to a governor of Macau. Ater an extensive restoration that lasted more than three and a half years, we have have opened this gorgeous villa hotel to welcome discerning guests looking for something other than a 'five star' Goa hotel. The entire restoration of this property was done with a view to it being a home, and therefore we were very generous in our use of space. In a building that had twenty four rooms there are today only seven suites and seven bathrooms. No necessity was felt to cram rooms in, and so we have spacious public areas and three very large halls! We recently renovated with love and traditional materials, natural stones and marble retaining Goa's traditional cha style, very similar to the pure unfrivolous decoration seen in classic pousadas and quintas throughout Portugal. We offer an oversized overflow pool and exceptionally friendly service. This property would be thoroughly enjoyed by that kind of person who knows that luxury has nothing to do with hotel receptions, glass atriums, piped music in hotel elevators, bell boys with funny caps, 'coffee shop' menus, uniformed waiters, checkout times and other such things and has everything to do with giving yourself the chance to really relax. This is a tastefully decorated heritage villa hotel in the typical Goa colonial architectural style, for indivduals, couples, groups of friends and families. With only 7 large suite accomodations named after trading ports of the 17th century (the century in which this property was built), including one two-roomed apartment (all with ensuite facilities) sleeping a total of 16, with an exclusive guests-and-friends-of-guests-only restaurant on a total of 12,000 sq. ft., our villa hotel is perfect for those looking for an original place to stay and for some p e a c e.... Call it yours while you enjoy your holiday and unwind on nearby beaches, that are among Goa's most wonderful. Once our guests visit nearby Mandrem, Morjim and Ashwem beaches they can never go anywhere else, and this villa hotel is hugely fortunate in being located so close to these beaches where you can really feel you own miles of empty beaches. You can also enjoy Goa's alternative culture or see Goa's historical and cultural sights. We have now seen many people here, and many return as friends. We believe that all have fond memories and feel the time they spent was special. The house has bonded many guests to us, to others and to the house, and for that we are grateful to the stones and plaster that is this house. (1) Our twin or double bedded suites (Bahia, Damão, Surat, Cambay and Macassar), all with large attached baths. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and comfortable and are suitable for a couple. (2) The Malabar suite has 2 bedrooms and so is perfect for a family of 4; Macau is what we fondly refer to as our 'nuptial' suite! Both are around 800+ sq. ft each, with bathrooms that are around 250 sq. ft each. Rates include breakfast of choice, do not include applicable local taxes at 12% and are based on a maximum of 2 people sharing a room. Only small children or babies can be accomodated with extra beds or cots. A 'kids' room can have up to 3 children. Visa and Mastercard are accepted

Additional Notes
Goa was probably the first colony ever of any European country and among the longest colonised by a single nation. While the meeting between cultures was not always happy, it was certainly occupies a very significant place in the history of East and West.
Goa is lined with excellent s and is home to wonderful old churches, temples, busy towns and sleepy villages. Goa is the perfect place to get some relaxation away for a while from busy, busy, busy India !
Four hundred and fifty years of Portuguese domination left its mark - but not as much as one would imagine for four hundred and fifty years. The result is an exciting mix of Indian and Occidental and a unique interdependence of the two ways. It is quite common to see hindu women in bright saris accompany their catholic neighbours to church on a Sunday.
Goa is also a place with beautiful old houses, made in the Portugese colonial style, but heavily influenced by Indian features. These whitewashed buildings dot the countryside - some are lived in, some not, some solidly alive, others barely still standing. This is the one aspect that we was particularly involved with over the past two years since we began to renovate this home. Goan houses are practical homes made for large families that began in a purer colonial style but then slowly adapted to India and proviing a setting for typically Goan Susegad, which is a Goan term that tries to describe relaxation in a uniquely Goan way, and that, unfortunately, few others have in their vocabulary.
