And it’s all just an hour or two by car from Brisbane, our state capital and international gateway. Locals, interstate visitors and overseas tourists alike have enjoyed the fabulous beaches and gorgeous climate for years. Hastings Street is trendy, sophisticated, and definitely the place to be and be seen. With a dash of European style, it rivals Port Douglas in tropical North Queensland as the destination for celebrities and the wealthy. The seafood in the area is superb. That and the ready availability of quality food from nearby inland centers has attracted innovative restaurateurs and great chefs. More Noosa restaurants are winning truly prestigious awards every year. Many of the best have views of the beach. Yet there is plenty of choice for people with simpler tastes. Streetside cafes and restaurants are generally less expensive, and there is plenty of fast food and takeout. All apartments have cooking facilities so you can choose to eat in some of the time. Between the rivers 10 minutes’ drive behind Noosa, Noosaville has a huge range of cafes and restaurants. Noosa Beach and Hastings Street are the focal points of a Noosa holiday, but there is a lot more to do if you want to. Surf shops in town and elsewhere on the coast run one-on-one or small group lessons in surfboard riding and hire out surf and boogie boards.
