Villa Phuket is a breathtaking villa set in one and a quarter acres of spectacular oceanfront land overlooking the Andaman Sea.
The North-West facing site, on a sea cliff, ensures total privacy and the property has been landscaped with lush tropical jungle vegetation. Contemporary Thai best describes the architecture with a liberal use of Asian artifacts and antiques throughout the property. It is built on 5 levels.
Level 1. From the entrance, a series of natural granite steps leads to the Thai Pavilion (60 sq m). This is an elegant traditional Thai Teak paneled sitting and dining Pavilion and is decorated in luxuriant Thai silk.
Leading off the Thai Pavilion is an outside (but covered) sunken dining Sala seating 12-14 people. A drop for ones legs beneath the table ensures that westerners can emulate the Thai lotus seating position without crippling themselves!
Level 2. One level below is the pool and covered entertainment area. A single log trestle table offers casual dining for up to 14. There is a relaxed seating area, a bar, ice making machine and drink cooler. For the more energetic there is a fully equipped air-conditioned gym featuring a running machine, a bike, a work bench and a multi-work station. There is also a built in sound system.
The pool is 14 x 4.5 meters and 1.4 meters deep. The water is treated with ozone. At night a negative edge waterfall feature is framed by fibre optic lighting. There is a sun deck; indoor and outdoor showers and a changing room.
Level 3. The bedrooms start here with The Porthole Room (38 sq m). This room has a raised king-size bed inset into a platform, a private balcony, en suite bathroom with walk-in wardrobe. There is a sound system and satellite TV
as there is in most of the bedrooms.
Level 4. The Thai Room (26 sq.m). This cozy wood paneled air-conditioned room overlooks the Andaman Sea and Surin Beach. It has a private intimate balcony. A Chinese style Queen-size bed accentuates the Asian atmosphere. There is an en suite shower-room. The Thai Room also is set up with a computer with Internet access and fax machine and can be used as an office. There is a TV and sound system.
An open terrace area leads across to the very impressive Master Bedroom (60 sq. m). Entrance is from a covered corridor through a large set of hand carved teakwood doors. A sophisticated gold and black color theme provides a perfect muted backdrop for the antique furniture. The bathroom features African Black granite with showers for two.
There is a King-size bed, a separate sitting area, large TV and stereo system. Sliding glass doors lead to a large private balcony with day bed, sun-loungers and table and chairs.
Level 5. A walk through a covered staircase leads down from the Master Bedroom to a large open hallway. Off to the left of this is the Mediterranean Room (40 sq. m) where the original granite rock face boulders have been carved out, rendered and form a base to the king-size bed. There is a picture bay window seat overhanging the ocean looking out to Surin Beach.
A sunken bathtub/shower in beige travertine marble faces the sea and is framed by a delightful small garden.
Opposite the Mediterranean Room is the Children's Bedroom (71 sq. m). This cavernous room features a cushioned platform area, which is formed from the natural rockface. This is a children's heaven for jumping and tumbling over all the cushions. In addition to the platform there are two single beds. There is a theater system entertainment area.
Follow the mosaic snake into the bathroom with stunning views.
Tree House. Separated from the main house via a suspended walkway is the Tree House. This octagonal pavilion (45 sq. m) is covered in 100 year old teak roof shingles and features a heavily cushioned wrap around deep seating area offering a 180 degree view of the ocean.
Tucked underneath the Tree House is an enchanting bedroom. Seven meters up through the trees is a king size bed that looks out to the sea. There is a marble bathroom and built-in ceiling sound system. Below is a private balcony and seating area which also has an access gate to the rocks and sea.
