The 45-acre estate with its fine Georgian manor was the idyllic retreat of the legendary director John Huston for 18 years, and the childhood home of his Oscar-winning daughter Anjelica. During that period, Merv Griffin interviewed Huston on the property and fell in love with it.

Griffin was able to acquire the hotel. After a multi-million dollar renovation, and with fabrics and antique furnishings chosen by the hands-on owner, the property was reopened as a 12-room guest house. Conde Nast’s “Hot List” praises the hotel’s Japanese chef, its art collection, and calls it “superbly comfortable” and “a dazzling newcomer to Ireland’s fast-growing hotel scene.”
