This splendid white castle, which dates from the 1780s, overlooks the River Shannon.
It is surrounded by a formal garden, a 500-acre dairy farm and woodlands. The castle has 15 en-suite bedrooms in which up to 30 guests can be accommodated.
The interior has a magnificent neo-classical ceiling and the walls are hung with a notable series of family portraits and Irish landscapes. Splendid antiques add an air of opulence to this elegant family home. Guests can relax in the splendid.
The Drawing Room, with its Irish marble mantelpiece, is a most elegant room in which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink before sitting down at a beautifully laid table covered in crisp Irish Linen. After dinner you can retire to a cosy sitting room for coffee and after-dinner drinks.
All of the bedrooms and their unique bathrooms differ from each other in layout, style and decor.
There is a hard tennis court and a croquet lawn on the grounds.
This is not a self-catering property and it comes fully staffed with cook and housekeeper.
On the Ground Floor there is a formal drawing room that has an Adam period ceiling, a beautiful Rossi marble mantelpiece and six long windows that overlook the croquet lawn.
The Kitchen is done in the tradition of Irish country houses the kitchen is not available for use by guests.
The Dining Room is filled with baronial oak furniture and pictures of former owners.
The other reception rooms consist of a sitting room and the library (with its broken pediment mahogany bookcase).

The walled garden has fresh fruit and vegetables for the kitchen, and there are opportunities for walking, croquet and tennis.
Golf is possible on some of the country’s most famous courses such as Ballybunion (New and Old), Tralee, Killarney and Lahinch. The picturesque village of Adare, the fascinating Burren region and the Cliffs of Moher, the Ring of Kerry and Killarney and the Dingle Peninsula provide exciting sightseeing opportunities in counties Kerry, Clare and Limerick.
Distances. Overlooking the River Shannon, this castle is situated 32 miles (52 km) from Limerick, 40 miles (64 km) from the Shannon airport, and 145 miles (232 km) from Dublin. Bed linen and towels are provided in all properties and these are changed once weekly in self-catering and partially staffed properties. Linen is changed approximately every three days in fully staffed properties. Cot or crib linen is not supplied. In fully staffed properties, we suggest you eat out at least one night a week to give the staff a free evening. At all properties a security deposit is required.
