Dorentrup Castle 10203 is a fabled moated castle in Dörentrup near Lemgo (between the River Weser and Teutoburger Forest).
This castle was erected in the 17 th century by a cousin of the lying Barons of Münchhausen.
The storyteller was often a guest; no wonder for the castle counts as one of the most beautiful constructions of the so-called “Weser Renaissance” and it is the stylish ambience for exclusive overnight accommodation.
The hosts have thus furnished two luxury double rooms for lavish nights.
In the area there are many leisure activities to take part in. For instance, there are Art exhibitions in the castle garden and parties on the castle grounds.
You can take an excursion to “Externsteine” – a natural phenomena which is a neolithic astronomical observatory atop the Externsteine rocks.
Or a sightseeing tour of the monument known as the “Hermannsdenkmal”.
There’s the Detmold Open Air Museum and the Weser Renaissance Museum in Lemgo-Brake.
You can take an excursion to Hameln, the town famed for the Pied Piper or explore the Teutoburger Forest or take a boat trip on the River Weser.
