SUNDANCE by Heather Brown

BACK TO VILLA MAGAZINE

Situated on 6000 pristine acres, surrounded by miles of scenic mountain terrain, Sundance is the most perfect, rustic getaway for all seasons as well as personalities. Purchased by Robert Redford to ensure the preservation of part of our countryıs most treasured resource, the environment, he nurtured the growth of a community conducive to recreation, arts, and humanity.

Accommodations at Sundance encompass a collection of elegant hand-made appointments, including furniture, comforters, and stone fireplaces, as well as Native American baskets, rugs, ceramics and weavings. Primitive and peaceful, however lacking no comfort or amenity, Sundance creates an atmosphere inviting to all who wish to relax and experience life as it was intended.

Summer, Spring, Winter or Fall, Sundance's plethora of activities aim to please everyone from the avid skier, to the devout fisherman, to the fresh-air thespian. Every imaginable outdoor adventure is right at your fingertips: horseback riding, mountain biking, scenic lift rides, lift-access hiking, golf, water sports, as well as cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. For those wishing to expend some of their creative rather than muscular energies, Sundance offers the "Art Shack Studios," which feature several different workshop sessions encompassing all forms of the visual arts from glass working to print making.

Whether it be through physical exploration or through artistic expression, the rich lands and awe-inspiring landscape will revive you, leaving an impression which you will carry with you always. Not to be over-shadowed by the tremendous activity selections, the expansive dining facilities include the award-winning Tree Room Restaurant, The Foundry Grill, The Sundance Deli, and The Owl Bar (a private club for members), or, if preferred, a grocery service is available for guests who wish to dine in. Organic, local produce is liberally used as their "earth-to-table² philosophy is integrated into all venues.

There are accommodations to suit the hideaway-seeking couple as well as larger homes for families or small groups. There is also a state-of-the art meeting space available for conference groups of up to 200 people. Evening activities include live, local entertainment in The Owl Bar, as well as movie screenings featured at the Sundance Film Festival. Every possible want or need is accommodated for at Sundance, and yet the natural surroundings are preserved making a wonderful and productive destination for visitors.
