As we embark
on our annual journey to Europe, this time the primary destination will
be the areas around France. It has a been some time since we have seen
Paris, and several Gerald, one of our main contacts in Paris, has arranged
for us to see a number of new rentals, apartments and townhouses now available
and ready for preview. He is one of a few key people we trust to keep
the standards that Overseas Connection demands for our clients.
Paris will
remain my favorite city in the world, not only for its beauty and tranquility,
but also for one of the finest views overlooking the Eiffel Tower in our
own apartment on Ave de Saxe. With three nice-sized bedrooms, three baths
and splendid open terraces, it affords us a superb place to relax after
a busy schedule and to prepare a real Parisiendinner after stopping at
the local boulangeries for fresh baguette, gourmet cheeses and the entree
our neighborhood charcuterie has prepared for us. It seems we have just
settled in Paris, and yet it is time to move on.
Our next
stop of course is the French Riviera. And so we set off for the next vacation
villa "Mas Des Oliviers."Perched on the hillside in Theoule sur Mer, it
is a tremendous five bedroom, five bath home with a stunning pool overlooking
the Mediterranean. It has been a while since I've seen the Riviera look
this beautiful, with the crisp blue sky against the mountains with white
peaks in the background challenging the beauty and warmth of the Cote
d'Azur. It takes us approximately 15 minutes to pass Cannes, following
the less trafficked coastline route . No one on the beaches, and again
I am struck by the crystal clear blue water and fresh air flowing through
my hair. Without a doubt, it is November in the South of France.
Many Americans
talk about how France used to be. . . Lazy strolls in the animated streets.
Exactly why, I say, if you have a chance, you should come back well after
the paparazzi of July and August are gone and stay at one of our villas
to re-experience the true beauty. From Cap Ferrat to Beaulieu, from Cannes
to Cap d'Antibes or St. Tropez the beauty is crystal clear. And in the
off season, only you and the locals are the lucky few to stroll these
incredible streets again, stop in for a café, take in the flavor,
and enjoy. If the busy summer months are a must, start very early for
best selection, privacy, and amenities. It's well worth the trip to revisit
this classic coastline, the sweet hillsides of Provence, the beauty of
Parisien streets. Now it's your turn to feel like you're coming home again.
