Located on the famous lobster coast of Maine, Fisherman Island is a perfect summer retreat for family and friends.
Fisherman Island is 68 acres and was originally settled by fishermen in the 17th century. The 5000 square feet Gothic Style, natural stone home on the island has 7 stylish bedrooms, sleeps up to 17 and has a sauna, steam room, pool and game room.
Most rooms have eastern and western exposures as well as inglenooks. One is a bunk room for children (5 beds). The Great Room has a cozy alcove, cushy seating and a fireplace. All windows offer spectacular views.
The accomodation/bedrooms: Main house: 3 x king size; 2 x double; 1 x twin.
The "bunkhouse" has 5 twin beds.
The garden has been recently landscaped and the house was remodelled in 1994. Electricity and telephone available.
There are plenty of opportunities to explore the hidden coves and lagoon, take boat excursions, fish or go tubing. Or relax in the sauna or steam room; swim and sun in and around the heated salt-water pool or on one of the two private beaches; explore hidden coves and lagoon; take boat excursions, play board games, go bird-watching or seal and whale- watching, fish, water sports, billiards, or darts. Transport and watersport is included. Actually the island operates two Parker boats (28 and 21 feet). Fishing is excellent there. And those who like they can try the sea kayak.
Dine by the fireplace in the Great Room or enjoy breakfast and lunch on the terrace overlooking the pool. The chef´s bountiful meals offer the best vegetables and Maine fresh seafood. All meals are prepared by chef Dave Galin.
A complete staff for cleaning, cooking and boat excursions is inclusive in the island rental. Seth Lewis is available to take guests on a variety of excursions, including fishing, tubing and the harbor.
* Guests are picked up from Boothbay Harbor for the 15 minute boat ride to Fisherman Island.
Explore the town of Boothbay and its attractions, like the aquarium that educates children about local marine life and the Boothbay Region Lobstermen's Co-Op.
Location : 59 miles north of Portland, Maine.
The Boothbay region also offers sailing, fishing, golf and tennis, and there are hiking trails in the Camden Hills State Park. The town of Borthbay has many restaurants, crafts and antiques shops, and in late June “Windjammer Days“ are celebrated. You can also take trips to the well-known Monhegan Island retreat. Getting there: Fly to Boston or Portland, Maine. Transfer to Boothbay Harbour, where the Skipper will await you. Fisherman Island is only 15 minutes by boat. The island reserved 3 parking places on the mainland. You can leave your cars there.
Rates: From May 26th to September 8th, 2007: USD 25,000 per week for 10 people, all-inclusive (all meals, beverages, boat transport to and from the mainland, local excursions, chef and maid service). Additional guests USD 360 per person/per day.
Prior to May 26th and after September 8th, 2007: For up to 10 people USD 21,000 per week or at a daily rate of USD 3,000 for up to 10 people, all-inclusive. Additional guests at USD 300 per person.
