Built in 1621, this castle is close to Inverness, a short distance from Loch Ness and looks out towards the Moray Firth.
For spectacular mountain walks and skiing in season, the Cairngorms are 40 minutes drive away. Alternatively the malt distilleries of the Whisky Trail are close at hand. Four poster beds, Jacobean furnishings and armour lend a true sense of the castle’s historic past, while open fires and fresh flowers ensure a warm welcome. The castle is rented fully staffed, including a full-time chef specializing in Scottish cuisine. Heating costs included. When not rented, it is available for dinner and overnight accommodation. Accommodation Ground Floor. Front entrance.First Floor. Kitchen and dining room, furnished in Jacobean mode with large open fire, wrought iron chandelier and ancient wall hangings. Second Floor. Oak panelled drawing room with grand piano and harp and large open fire; wood panelled billiard room and library.Third Floor. Great Hall, large function room with polished wood floor and open fire. West Tower: three twin and on double bedroom; East Tower: one twin, one tester and two four-poster bedrooms; all rooms have either en suite or adjoining bathrooms.

Distances. Edinburgh 160 miles (258 km). Bed linen and towels are provided in all properties and these are changed once weekly in self-catering and partially staffed properties. Linen is changed approximately every three days in fully staffed properties. Cot or crib linen is not supplied. In fully staffed properties, we suggest you eat out at least one night a week to give the staff a free evening. At all properties a security deposit is required.
