The villa lies directly above the village of Positano in a lovely position with a superb view, and from the garden and the terraces you can take in the whole coast as far as the promontory at Praiano, and below you can see the center of Positano and the beach.
The special atmosphere and particular warmth of this property mean that few people really want to leave it to go down to the beach, even though it's only 15 minutes away on foot.
There's nothing new to say about Positano, and it goes without saying that it is one of the most fascinating places in the world, where both during the day and at night time you can go through wonderful experiences that you are unlikely to find elsewhere.
Originally built by the current owner's grandfather who was a chef from Naples and director of the Academy of Italian Cooking for many years, the villa sits on the hillside above Positano on a cliff delivering unchallenged views of the cobalt Mediterranean sea and the Isle of Capri as it beckons off shore like a Siren's song. You can visit by ferry or hydrofoil from Positano.
The Villa is built into the hill with four levels, and the entrance is from the upper floor as follows:
You reach the villa on foot up an attractive little alley way of about 200 meters up 75 steps, our guests can use a baggage carrying service both on arrival and on departure.
From the entrance gate, passing through the garden, you come to the main part of the house, and carrying on along the garden terrace you come to the second part of the house, which is completely independent.
On the terrace below there is a private swimming-pool (10x10m) for guests' use, that has been furnished and equipped with great care.
Every angle of the fenced garden is like a perfect water-colour of a beautiful view.
Positano Villa 6148 is furnished in modern style with some rustic details, it comes equipped with satellite TV and video recorder, stereo with CD player, telephone, Internet connection, air-conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, barbecue, small wine cellar with assortment of wines.
Two domestics look after the cleaning of the house during the week and are available for anything you might need. Cleaning during the week 8 hours, 6 times a week for a total of 48 hours.
Breakfast is included in reservation, chef services are included but cost of meals is additional, a menu is provided on request.
Luggage carrying service available, please note there are about 75 steps to the villa.
There is also parking at a nearby parking lot available at an additional cost.
The estate is comprised of one Main building and 3 separate independent Annexes. The Main building has 4 bedrooms and each Annex has one bedroom. The minimum rental is the Main building and one annex for a total of 5 bedrooms, the other 2 annexes can be rented in addition if more bedrooms are desired.
On the First Level there is the Main building and from the Ground Floor there is a center room with passageway, large living room with fireplace and access to terrace, kitchen and dining room. Also on this floor is the Master bedroom with Queen size bed and bathroom with bathtub and shower.
The floor below can also be entered from the garden area. On this floor there is 1 guest bedroom with Queen size bed and bathroom with bathtub and shower, and 1 guest bedroom with Queen size bed and bathroom with external shower which you reach from the terrace. Both these bedrooms have access to a large panoramic terrace.
From the garden, near the pool, is the Garden Room which offers 1 guest bedroom with double bed and bathroom with shower.
There is an Annex with private access that offers 1 double bedroom with bathroom with shower.
Also a full bathroom with shower by the pool in the shower house.
All the bedrooms offer private ensuite bathrooms with shower, air conditioning and sea views.
Distances: Sorrento 16 kms, Amalfi 13 kms, Ravello 20 kms.
Possibiity of renting additional one or two Annexes for 2 to 4 addtitonal guests, each with private access that offers a double bedroom with bathroom with shower. Rate for each annex will be $2,000 per week additional.
Villa holds a maximum of 14 guests. Can be rented as 5 bedroom minimum, or 6 bedrooms, or 7 bedrooms.
