This cottage is a charming old stone-built farmhouse tucked away under a rocky hillside, with fine views over Dunmanus Bay.
It is recently restored ax a comfortable home with particular attention to typical cottage characteristics. A leafy lane leads to the friendly fishing and farming village of Ahakista which lies at the center of Sheep’s Head Peninsula described by the poet Seamus Heaney as “. . . water and ground in their extremity.” There are 60 miles of marked paths to explore the wildly beautiful coastline. The cottage lies along the route of the West Cork Garden Trail. There are many fine restaurants within easy reach. Golf, fishing, water-sports and pony-trekking are available locally. ACCOMODATION Ground Floor. Entrance is through a bootroom which leads to the sitting room, with inglenook fireplace. Dining area and fully equipped kitchen are semi-open plan to the sitting room.First Floor. Steep, narrow stairs lead up to a landing. Two bedrooms (one twin and one double) have views of the bay; bathroom with bath and shower unit. Washing machine and dryer, telephone, electric heating.Heating and electricity extra. Refundable security deposit required on arrival.

Distances. The cottage is located under a rocky hillside with views over Dunmanus Bay. It is 50 miles (80 km) from the Cork Airport, 125 miles (200 km) from the Shannon Airport, and 220 miles (354 km) from Dublin. Bed linen and towels are provided in all properties and these are changed once weekly in self-catering and partially staffed properties. Linen is changed approximately every three days in fully staffed properties. Cot or crib linen is not supplied. In fully staffed properties, we suggest you eat out at least one night a week to give the staff a free evening. At all properties a security deposit is required.
