The Pagasitiko Gulf is calm, green and sheltered, and a 2 1/2 hour drive north from Athens.

Sheltering from the Meltemi in the calm Pagasitiko Gulf, lies the pretty fishing village of Mitzella. Completely off the beaten track, and unknown to the vast majority of foreigners, Mitzella takes one back several decades to a time when Greece was a quieter, simpler place.

Across the bay rise the mountain ranges of Pelion, the island of Skiathosand the other Sporades are just across the water, the wonders of Meteora are just over an hour away, as is Thermopylae, the museum of Dion with the recent findings in Litohoro at the feet of mount Olympus, the Byzantine glories of Salonika are 2 hours away, Delphi is a day trip by car and Athens is an easy 3 hour drive away.

This is an opportunity to explore a beautiful and lesser-known part of Greece.

Mitzella Villa 8747 was built in the 1970’s, in the Pelion style, which is whitewashed walls, slate roves, wooden balconies and ceilings, and stone floors.

The Villa follows the contour of the hill on which it is built, providing spacious rooms, terraces and balconies galore, and above all, lovely views of the water and beach 30 meters below. Steps lead down through the garden to the pool, and then continue down to the shore. This has been beautifully paved with a pavilion, deckchairs, steps into the water, and a path along the shore to the small shingle beach that is otherwise only accessed by the neighbouring property.

This property was extensively used by its owners for large parties, family holidays and generous entertainment – the space, privacy and proximity to the sea make this an ideal house for relaxing with family of friends. This villa has an especially well-developed water-front which makes it especially desirable.
