Caring for the environment as well as the community, the artwork and décor accents are designed and sourced locally. From laundry hampers and wastebaskets woven from Jamaican banana leaf, to tableware, linens, planters and lampshades - each piece is handcrafted by the island’s skilled tradesmen and produced in the traditional island manner.
No trees were felled in the layout here. Buildings were adjusted to accommodate the natural landscape; in some cases, trees simply go through the roof.
This estate offers five wood frame peak roof bungalows built in the island classic style. 3 of which are 1 bedroom and 1 has 2 bedrooms.
Wrapped in shuttered doors and windows, each bungalow opens almost entirely into the natural splendor of the jungle.
Interiors are a blend of colonial and West Indian design, the atmosphere is one of easy, island elegance.
Accented in artwork and textiles by local artists, each graciously appointed tree-house is outfitted with a lounge that opens onto a sheltered veranda or ‘walls’ of French doors that open to allow the outside in.
Each Tree House has indoor and outdoor showers.
Each also have Galley Kitchens that are stocked with essentials such as cold drinks, light snacks, good wine and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. The Kitchens open onto an open air living space.
Instead of television, rooms are equipped with Bose docks and iPods loaded with a stylish and international selection of music running from Mozart to Morcheeba.

The Spanish Elm Tree House is a One bedroom, wood-frame, peak roof, completely private 552 sq ft luxury tree house.
The Almond Tree Tree House is a One bedroom, wood-frame, peak roof, completely private 656 sq ft luxury.
The Sheet Wood Tree House is a Two bedroom, wood-frame, peak roof, completely private 1198 sq ft luxury tree house.
All Tree Houses are designed in Jamaica’s classic, vernacular style using sustainable woods, local materials, and environment-friendly design.
They are wrapped in shuttered, cedar doors and windows, and opens entirely into the natural splendor of the jungle.
Tucked into the hillside above a blue lagoon, and surrounded by sheltered verandas draped in lush rainforest greenery and flowering plants.
Accented in local art and textiles, graciously appointed interiors blend Colonial and West Indian design with an atmosphere of easy tropical elegance.
Indoor showers are equipped with a selection of eco friendly, botanically based, locally sourced products and 100% cotton waffle robes.
All Tree Houses come with air conditioning.
All guests have full access to their very own private lagoon that is fed by a number of nearby hot springs. This water is said to have healing properties and in our guests' opinion, it is a far more memorable experience than a swimming pool.
The Royal Palm is the first Tree House that you will see when entering the property. It is our the meeting place, lounge and dining area.
The Sweet Wood Tree House is a 2 Story Tree House and features a living area at the top level with a sizeable kitchen area, bathroom and daybeds. The lower floor features 2 bedrooms with en suite walk - in, over- head showers. Both Floors feature French doors that open to reveal the closest view of the lagoon. This is versatile for a small family as the upper floor can be transformed into a third bedroom. Total: 2 Bedrooms and 3 Baths.
The Upper Deck Tree House boasts a panoramic view of the property and has an actual tree growing through it. Perfect for a young couple or to entertain friends, it has a lounge area, kitchenette and en suite bathroom.
The Spanish Elm Tree House greets its guests with a cobble stone Terrace and lounge area. This Tree House is very much like a Summer House and has two adjoining rooms in an alcove design. It boasts a Kitchen and a private outdoor shower area.
The Almond Tree Tree House is the ultimate accommodation for two. It's nicknamed the Honeymoon Suite because of it’s privacy and Romantic ambience. It is accented by four poster bed, en suite walk - in over head shower and kitchen area. It too has a lounge area and exercise equipment.
All Tree Houses are decorated by the owners. Local and international art and furniture collected from a lifetime of travel have been used to accentuate the Tree Houses.
Spend the day lounging by the lagoon, snorkeling the reef, kayaking through the calm turquoise waters, swimming out to Monkey Island, or simply relax to the sounds of the surf and the rainforest.
With panoramic ocean views, a trio of carved mahogany daybeds, a selection of art, culture, food and design books, international magazines and an open bar; the elegant open air Great Room is the perfect place to lounge away an afternoon.
Guests gather in the Great Room for gracious meals, in between which, staff is on hand to attend to coffees, cocktails and canapés.
More active types may wish to arrange water sport excursions. Staff is happy to arrange anything guests may have a yen for; from sailing trips to hang-gliding, fishing or diving.
Meals are prepared with an emphasis on local, organic ingredients; greens and herbs are cultivated in the estate’s own mountain garden. Menus place the focus on traditional Jamaican dishes like; callaloo, green bananas, ackee, breadfruit, yam, wild cocoa, sweet potato, grilled and curried seafood and meats. Tailored to suit any preference – vegan or vegetarian, meat lovers, low carb or with a special focus on local specialties – the menu is entirely guests’ choice.
Dinners are arranged indoors in the Great House or outdoors on a pink limestone terrace carved into the hillside beneath the rainforest canopy, with a chef tending to fresh caught yellowtail snapper, lobster, fresh water crayfish, chicken or beef on the open grill.
Bespoke picnics are available on request for any excursion—from day tours around the coast, trips to nearby beaches, or just across the lagoon on deserted Monkey Island.
Fully stocked with premium lagers and liquors, the bar at the Great House also features a bespoke selection of internationally acclaimed Jamaican rums, as smooth, fine and flavorful as the world’s best cognacs.
World travelers and wine aficionados, the owner’s cellar offers an interesting and international range of vintages. The wine list can be tailored on request and guests are encouraged to make any particular preferences known upon booking.
Port Antonio offers a number of dining options, high style or low key, for guests looking for a night out in the tropics. Kanopi’s staff is happy to suggest and arrange bookings at local restaurants — or to simply escort you to the best local BBQ shack for a casual and delicious grilled lunch or dinner.
The estate is represented here as a 5 bedroom, but we can also rent each Tree House separately for smaler groups willing to share the grounds.
