When you prefer to eat at home, the cook can prepare a beautiful and delicious meal. There is always delicious, fresh seafood which she prepares in many different ways. A signature dish is her baked lobster. She makes beautiful salads, rice dishes, whole beef filets, and any kind of chicken. Children always like her Dominican fried chicken, which is done in tiny pieces.
The staff will be happy to shop for you or to go with you to the market. A member of the staff who speaks English will be present while you are there.
The cook and maid have been part of the staff since 1986 and are both kind, honest, and intelligent. At the end of your stay, if you would like to give them a tip please know that they will be very grateful.
The villa has full use of all of the facilities at Casa De Campo, an exclusive neighboring resort, including tennis, 3 Peter Dye golf courses, horseback riding, polo, a world class shooting range, a complete fitness center, children’s day camp, trail rides, restaurants, shops and much more.
All within the special place called Altos da Chavron, which is a Mediterranean village, built to be a replica of a sixteenth century village. A haven for artists, featuring art galleries, shops, a museum, excellent restaurants, and a breathtaking amphitheater.
Upon arrival to Dominican Republic, a driver meets you at La Romana Airport and drives you to the villa and to the resort's hotel.
At the hotel they will issue to you Casa de Campo guest cards, so that you can use all the fabulous hotel facilities. This is also the place to pick up your rental cars.
There are two restaurants and a popular bar at the main hotel site, also an acclaimed restaurant at the beach, and about six other restaurants at Altos de Chavon.
Among the restaurants are three favorites: Cafe del Sol which is a a pizza restaurant, Cafe del Rio which is a really good French restaurant, and La Giacosa which is a really popular Italian/Mediterranean restaurant. The last two restaurants plus the beach restaurant are all quite lovely and worth a visit.
