The ranch is approximately 5000 acres which is farmed with Dorpar sheep and Boran cattle.

There are many birds on the ranch and a lot of wildlife - elephants, giraffes, zebras, waterbuck and warthog, to name but a few.

There is a wonderful succulent garden, which is full of birds. Over 200 species have been identified in the region, including many migrating from Europe between December and February each year.

The Ranch is made up of a 5 Bedroom Main House and an additional Lodge that has 4 bedrooms.

The Main House is made up of small cottages where the bedrooms are located.

The Lodge is located at a further distance away and may be rented out per bedroom to other guests, but no one from the Lodge shares any part of the Main House.

The original Main House has been modernized and extended to provide very comfortable and attractive accommodation.

It has a wonderful garden with it's own freshwater salted pool and tennis court.

There are three cottages all with private bathrooms and their own verandas.

The main house has a large drawing room with a grand piano.

There’s also a large verandah where you can have breakfast and lunch.

The dining room has a roof terrace, which is ideal for evening cocktails and studying the stars with a telescope.

The swimming pool in the garden of the Ranch is equipped with it's own pool house and separate changing and bathrooms.

The ranch lies at 6000 feet or 1900 metres above sea level, so there is no need for air condition and at night it is quite cool.

Although the Main House is very well equipped and modern, the Lodge however is exposed to the elements and generally is a lot more of a natural kind of experience.

Amenities include: TV, DVD, VHS and Stereo System.

The house is supplied with a lot of home produce. They grow their own sheep and ducks and vegetables. Crayfish, when in season, can be caught on the dam.

Reservation includes full staff of maids and cook. Full board. Cost of Wine and Beverages additional.

The cook has been at the Ranch for ten years and has plenty of experience. He makes the bread, pizzas and fresh pasta.

He can vary from Italian to Thai cooking and is extremely helpful in making sure everyone is happy. His assistant is also there to help - they both speak English.

There is plenty of game to be seen. There are two viewing 4 x 4 vehicles available for game drives. The vehicles are driven by a driver. Game drives take place mornings and evenings to get the best results. Game drives are taken on the Ranch and also into Loisaba Wilderness, which is an over 50,000 acre ranch.

There are plenty of game, in particular, leopard, lion, cheetah, elephant and kudu.

It is possible to view collared Lion which are being studied for their habitat etc. The Laikipia lion are very shy, hence the radar collars. After an early morning game drive, breakfast can be arranged in the bush.

Horses are available for riding to suit all different standards of riders. They are taken out onto the plains to view the game.

A lot of fun can be had Cray fishing on the dam with a barbeque picnic - or a day's fishing on Lake Turkana can be organized.

There’s plenty of walking. You will be able to visit the ancient graves which are over 4,000 years old. Or walk along the Ewaso Nyiro river or amongst the Yellow fever trees in the II Palagani valley.

The farm has over 1,000 Dorpar sheep and Boran cattle. You will have the opportunity to view the daily farm activities, the farm manager will be happy to take you around.

Samburu tribal dancing can be seen at local manyattas and camel safaris can be arranged.

To get here, there are direct charter flights from Nairobi. There is a 1000 meter all weather airstrip suitable for single or twin engine planes. There is a daily (1 hour) Safari Link flight from Nairobi to Loisaba (which is town 20 minutes drive away from ranch). Or if flying from Nanyuki it is 20 minutes.

By Road with Four Wheel Drive: From Nairobi 5 hours. From Nanyuki 2.5 hours.

The Main House has 5 bedrooms and can accomodate up to 10 guests. For additional guests there is a nearby Lodge with 4 additional bedrooms for up to a total of 18.

Please note the Lodge is not as modern as the Main House.

Also there may be guests staying at the Lodge while guests are at the Main House. But this is completely separate and private from each other.
